Principles & Overview

The Prewitt Organizing Fund is committed to advocates that demonstrate a need and desire to organize. We support unions, NGOs and progressive associations with organizing resources. We provide good work for good organizers in a framework that allows ample compensation and time off - family, study or other-work breaks make our organizers better, stronger and more mature. And they know how to win in the face of extreme odds.

We make experienced organizers available to a wide variety of important campaigns and projects or into new or growing programs. We are especially supportive of innovative organizing campaigns and small or independent groups with bona fide organizing agendas.

We desire to train member-organizers and less-experienced staff to become effective organizers.

In addition to our fee-for-service work, Prewitt deploys resources to coordinate and run unique or new organizing projects and programs. In many cases, our goal is to incubate new or hybrid associations or activist groups.
